In December 2024, the Bipartisan House of Representatives Task Force Report on Artificial Intelligence issued a 273-page document highlighting America’s approach to responsible AI innovation while considering guardrails appropriate to safeguard the nation against current and emerging threats. The House AI Task Force consists of 12 Republicans and 12 Democrats. The report includes key areas for using AI: 1). Promote innovation 2). Safeguard against harm; 3). Plan for power needs; 4). Develop an AI-ready workforce; 5). Protect privacy; 6). Make compliance feasible; and 7). Increase cooperation. Click here to read or download the full report.
In May, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) released “Working Smarter: How Manufacturers Are Using Artificial Intelligence,” its own report on AI’s deployment in the manufacturing sector and an accompanying list of suggested policy actions for Congress to take. STAFDA is a member of NAM.
